Madeleine Swift Butcher received her BFA in Modern Dance from NYU School of the Arts (Tisch) in 1971 and has performed On-Broadway and Off, in films and TV.  In 1975 she was certified as a massage therapist and began a private practice of twenty years, in additon to her performing career.

She has worked in the Entertainment industry in many capacities. She has been a  personal assistant, assistant film editor, has taught dance, playwriting and improvisation to at-risk kids. 

A lifetime student of ballet, Madeleine has taught ballet to children and adults and has choreographed and performed as a member of Cumulus, the Silverlake dance company associated with Studio A.

In 2000 Madeleine took her first Pilates mat class and immediately recognized it as a foundation of her early Modern Dance training.  She became certified through Power Pilates and is also certified through the Pilates Method Alliance.

Presently she teaches private apparatus-based sessions and mat classes at her Woodland Hills studio.
